"Mano a Mano"

Once again Sunday evening boredom struck yesterday. It was approaching the late hours of the night and we had nothing to do. As we pondered which movie to watch, it quickly occurred to me that we had too much energy to watch a movie. A calm Sunday evening movie quickly escalated into a full on slapping match. Mano a mano, literally "hand in hand", Jon-Michael and I brawled it out. Jaws sore and faces torn, I eventually reached a conclusion. No words do better justice to my realization then those of a wise friend...
"Sounds like you two need girlfriends."

What is our Destiny?

Throughout our lives we are encouraged to reach our destiny, but what really is our destiny? What do we have to do in order to reach our destiny? What happens if we slip once or miss just one opportunity? Are we still capable of reaching our potential? As our lives get more complicated, we find ourselves wondering what is the correct choice. As summer approaches, I find myself wondering what choices I should take in order to accomplish my potential. Should I go to school and further my education, should I apply for internships and get work experience at home, or work at school where I can be with my friends, or even travel the world? What will be most beneficial to my future. If I travel the East, will I postpone my graduation, will I miss the chance to meet my future wife, or will I open new doors to opportunities in the future? As I ponder these decisions and weigh the possible outcomes, I am comforted by a quote:

"I will always be a disciple of Christ, it is not what I do, it is a part of me."

As I am force to make these decisions I remember that it is in the Savior that I must put my confidence. I need not stress about the possible outcomes but strive to be the best in every aspect of life. I remind myself that there is a greater power at the helm, one with an invested interest in my future.

Rock Climbing

• So JM and I went rock climbing like 5 days of 7 last week. We borrowed Gabe's stuff. I love Rock Climbing. We're mastering the kitchen up Rock Canyon Park. We met some crazy boulder named Patty (he's got the best/dirtiest mullet I've ever seen with steps on the side). We've debated getting gear. REI had a rope on sale for 104 bucks. I would've gotten it but I got my car towed last weekend at Nightmare on 13th and had to pay $200 to get it back :-(. The Haunted House was fun though. I scared Merc and Stacy and Hallie really good! I think I'll save up for climbing gear though. I love it! It's a great sense of accomplishment!

Sunday 10/18/09

• Great Falls Dinner at Sarah Gerard's
• It was fun. Dave, Jack, Sarah G, Dave E, Me, JM, Kathrine, Kathrine, Mary-Kathrine, Kate S, Katie D, Ashley Bazz, Quincy, Whitney.
• Fun crowd. Sarah G is way fun and she's got fun friends.
• Ashley Bazz went home with JM, David and me. We figured out what's Lauren's deal... bf. haha. Who knows why she gave me her number in the first place... B is a way fun girl too.

Rest of the Day 10/17/09

• Chinese Buffet with JM, Mike and Aubrey J, Kevin and Kim B, and Evan and wife.
• Shotgun Shooting with David and Kendrick H, Brad and Dave, Greg, and Stephanie and girl. I did alright. I probably hit about half the clay pigeons. I got a little tense in the middle but overall I hit about half.
• Men's Lax Game: I sat by Hallie K, Zach D, and Brooke S. It was good. Taylor played well. They beat the Canadian team. I think it was 16 to 9. (not 100% sure).
• BYU Football Game: I watched the 4th quarter at my house with the Shotgun Shooting crowd
• Women's Soccer Game: 2-0 against TCU. Lauren scored (I missed it). Fun crowd. Sat with JM and Barrett and Andrew H.
• Greg, Kendrick, and I watch the proposal.

Triathlon 10/17/09

• Triathlon: Saturday. We were up at 6:30. We were supposed to be at the transition area at 7:00. It was freezing in the morning. I didn't sleep very good the night before due to the anxiety. The race was suppose to commence at 9 but didn't until 9:30. It was speculated that the delay was due to swim practice. Ty Roney, Matt Capone, and Ben Fletcher did the race with JM and me. The race was a blast. It was fun to be in the racing atmosphere. It felt like a swim meet where everyone is getting excited and is there together for a common cause. After each lap people cheered us on. At the end of the biking we ran and my legs felt like jelly. After about 100 yards they got back to normal. JM forgot to take his helmet off after the bike (he went a few yards before a lady told him to take it off). The running was probably my weakest link. But towards the end, I was tempted to sprint. I decided to save a little for the swim though. As I entered the pool house, I realized I forgot my googles so I borrowed someone else's. I pass like 6 people in the pool but after that I realized how tired I really was. 4 laps would have been good. I pushed through the next 3 and for the last I mustard the energy to sprint! 39 minutes. It was a great feeling of accomplishment. After JM came in we realized that Mike and Aubry Jensen came to support us! They took some victory pictures and it was great to feel their support!

Harry Potter Party 10/16/09

• Harry Potter Party: Friday night at Margo's apartment: I was the golden snitch (great idea accredited to Trevor). I got Clark's golden full, I mean FULL, body spandex and put on wings. I also painted my face gold and my hair. It was quite the rave but a very awkward experience. It reminded me of wearing a wrestling singlet around for a couple hours, not to mention dancing part. It was a way full party though.
